With the Fehling Turnus kerrison, even the most challenging bites can be easily performed. This is made possible with a jaw that can rotate 360°. Simply grab the shaft by the ridges, pump the shaft into the handle, and twist in either direction. All shapes and sizes of shafts can be easily interchanged to be used with a single handle―just remove the current shaft with the release button at the tip of the handle, then insert the new shaft and resume surgery.
Two styles of handle are available: the Tradition Handle, which closely resembles an ordinary kerrison handle, and the Concept Handle, which has a rounded proximal end for added comfort when held upside down. It is recommended to have two handles in each tray, so that the scrub nurse can prepare one handle while the surgeon is using the other.
There are also three footplates from which to choose. The Standard Footplate is the thickest and most durable option, making it ideal for large bites. For ultra-delicate applications, the Filigree Footplate is recommended. The most popular choice, however, is the moderately-sized Flat Footplate with its perfect marriage of thinness and durability.
Unique designs such as oversized handles, bayoneted or curved shafts, or extra-long jaw length.
